Project 4, laser cut paper: Love

Love
By Caitlin Pupich; Paper, Glue, Tape, Styrofoam Board
Our world is riddled with visions of love and romance that can only be found in fiction, yet they are expected to translate to reality. From a young age, you are exposed to princesses and love at first sight; as you grow older you’re introduced to idealized sex and perfect romance. We are tossed into relationships with these unrealistic expectations. It isn't that we are just naive, we believe we know based on these false expectations. Movies, books, TV shows, games- they all work at reinforcing these ideals. The lack of glamour of real love eliminates it from popular forms of entertainment and everyday conversation. We investigate love only through these fictional ideals and scientific data, all of which are ineffective at answering the most pressing question: is love even real?
