Entropy and Control
This piece was really a response to the ideas on propaganda. When exploring why we used propaganda, I realized that most of the time we are simply trying to control people's thoughts and ideas in order to control them, but in most cases where propaganda is used, it ends up leading to chaos in the long run. This ties to a very prominent term: entropy. Summarizing this concept in the simplest of terms, it means that everything tends toward chaos. This is relevant in all facets of life, from smaller concepts such as the human body, to bigger ones such as propaganda and whole societies.
The book is designed to resemble a simple understanding of all these terms, and how they relate to each other over time. The illustrations, which are meant to replicate the simplicity of a child's drawing, were digitally drawn in a computer and then transferred to paper by the laser cutter, such as I did with the previous paper-cutting project. Because it resembles the cycle of destruction and rebirth that comes with control and entropy, there is not title indicating a beginning or end to the book. For the QR codes, I chose a link to all the results that come up when you search "peace" in google. I also picked a video that describes entropy in great detail in its scientific terms. Finally, I included a link to a few ways in which humans use control, such as with experiments, emphasizing what a large part of human life control forms.
